Poets are poets because they write poems
they compete in competitions where they win lies
those competitions with the salami, with the gold medal

The poet is a tired man who wakes up at midday
who looks out from the balcony and just looks around
insecure and always uncertain he drags himself to his den
coffee and milk with eggs that his mother prepares for him.
Poets are madmen who don't pay the toll
they pretend to understand when they write courage
but if there is war to be waged, the poet is down in the cellar
he makes love with the servant and fucks the queen.
The poet has secrets that he doesn't tell anyone
they are dream formulas that make him sell smoke
with that slightly sly air, the artist's privilege
he loves cats, drinks wine, forgets the dentist's bill.
The poets they are the sun that warms the hopes
of desperate people who feed on blasphemies
poets are the sea that surrounds everything
but their skin is too light and they don't do more than a lot.
