I was nobody special
Didn't have a well known name
I was not an heir to great riches
Never celebrated a life fame
Oh, but one day I met King Jesus
And suddenly my life was changed
When I knelt at an old fashioned altar
And He washed my sins away
He took out the Book of Life
And He turned to a new page
Then God almighty
He wrote down my name
Now my life it has been different
Since I rose to great fame
On the day I was forgiven
And God wrote my name.
Now some folks don't understand
Why I celebrate my new life
I'm so proud to be a Christian
I'm having the time of my life
But I would never celebrate such joy
Had I never met Jesus Christ
And as long as I live
I'll never forget the time
