1 He was a shoemaker, nothing special
In a village whose name escaped me
Who made such pretty shoes, so light
That our lives seemed a little less heavy to carry
He put time, talent and heart into it
Thus spent his life in the midst of our hours
And far from the fine speeches of great theories
his task every day one could say about him
He changed lives
2 He was a teacher, a simple teacher
Who thought that knowledge was a great treasure
That all the less than nothing had to get by
That school and the right that has everyone to educate themselves
He put time, talent and heart into it
Thus spent his life in the midst of our hours
And far from the beautiful speeches of the great theories
You could say about his task every day
He changed lives
3 He was a little guy, just a little guy
Clumsy and dreamy, a bit of a failure in short
Thought he was useless, banished from other men
He cried on his saxophone
He put so much time, tears and pain into it
The dreams of his life, the prisons of his heart
And far from fine speeches, from great theories
Inspired day after day by his breath and his cries
He changed life
