Images pass through my head
that barely let me be.
You put yourself in front of me,
you said that you were going to drive,
with a smile so big
that I couldn't help but smile.
All the way dodging trucks,
my heart was going to break out
every time you turned to look at me.
You asked me if I was scared,
and I didn't know what to say,
I just thought that I didn't care about dying.
Empty cans of beer
stacked in the back seat,
until the next gas station
where to stop for more.
Don't ask me if I miss you
because I couldn't lie,
but I have brought a gift
that you can hear,
that makes you feel
what I feel here.
