Horses
I had a dream
and you were in it.
You held horses
waiting for me:
two horses
black with white stars
on their foreheads,
oh, what can it mean?
You carried water
and I carried bread
we rode your horses
as we fed
and the water,
it tasted of cream.
We rode your horses
down to the sea.
And the last time
that I saw you,
you were letting the horses
run free.
I reached to touch you
and awoke in my bed,
I found I'd been weeping
oh it was a dream…
All that next day
I felt just out of sight,
You were waiting
with horses…
for me.
