of the level of spiritual awakenness
in this nation
Then I'd have to use my
Religious Calculations,
which is
Knowledge of God addition
Recognition of the Holy Spirit subtraction
Attendance in church multiplication
but, Application of scriptures division
Weighing out all the elements of that equation
according to my calculations

this is not me
trying to scream at the bleachers
this is literally
the preacher preaching to the preacher
so let me be the first one in line
with my hand up in the air
saying
Reveal to me the areas where my heart
just doesn't care
and strip me of my idols
until I completely lay bare
then break my at my knees
so that my loyalty is clear

everytime that I sit down to write
I ask the Spirit to speak
as I put paper to pen
