This road I travel isn’t always easy,
but no one ever said that it would be.
Some times this ole road gets kind of lonely,
sometimes a friend will walk right here with me.
There are no shortcuts on this road I’m taking,
but there are those who think there ought to be.
Many of them will wander, from the path that we are taking,
for only a few will find the key.
Will you come and join me on my journey,
and walk with me, right here by my side.
I know that there’s a place somewhere up yonder,
where I hope someday I might reside.
There’s a good book, its called the Holy Bible,
it tells us just how much we have to bear.
So I keep it and before, I go to sleep I pray,
this road I’m on will surely take me there.
Turn around
Won’t you come and join me on my journey,
and help me plant the seeds that we must sow.
We cannot change the rules out on the highway,
He mapped our course a long, long time ago.
So now we’ve got to follow his directions,
if we want to make it to the end.
Faith, hope, and love, will guide us out upon,
this road we travel to the great beyond.
