The More Time Passes by Me
Will you come with me and take me -
Back to when we loved as one;
To when every hour we ever had –
Seemed to overflow with fun…
What happened to those times then –
When nothing much stayed wrong?
When everything we ever did –
Could last a lifetime long…
How did they just slip away –
And not leave a trace behind –
Except for the million memories –
That will not leave my mind?
Is this the way it’ll be for us –
Now and forever more?
Or is there a chance that we could try –
Being friends at least once more?
The more time passes by me –
And I think of me and you –
The more I realise how much –
I didn’t really do …
To make us work and keep us friends –
Build trust to help us through –
So now I find I wish for all
There was with me and you…
Oh, for a chance to try now -
Turn back five years or ten –
So I could try to be the way –
You’d love me once again.
The more time passes by me –
The more I think again –
The more I realise that now –
I’ve lost my only friend.
