Angelo Branduardi un aviatore irlandese prevede la sua morte

I know that it will be there, somewhere in the clouds,
it will be there that I will ultimately meet my destiny;
I don't hate these people that I now have to fight,
and I don't love these people I must defend;
my country is Kiltartan Cross,
my people its farmers,
none of this can make them more or less happy.
Nor the law nor the right pushed me to fight,
it was not politics, nor the applause of the crowd.
It was an impulse of joy, a solitary impulse
that pushed me one day to this tumult in the clouds;
in my mind I have calculated everything, everything considered,
and the years to come seemed to me a waste of breath,
the years I have a waste of breath past
in comparison to this life, to this death.
