Angizia klezmerabend

Ninth Chapter
It is evening on Kezman's graveyard and Redondo, the clarinetist, is playing a klezmer piece that he used to perform for German soldiers in well-heeled bars. Meanwhile, the workman is crouching in the rotten timbers of his mortuary and styling his funny puppet with an old wool comb, which he pushes through the shaggy artificial hair as if by remote control. A tear almost rolls down his frozen cheeks when he hears Redondo playing the clarinet, but before he knows it, a corpse cart rolls past.
