April Verch bride of jesus

I wore my hair in pretty ringletts
my father swore they were spun gold
and so I cried though I tried not to
on the day my locks were shorn.
There was a boy in my childhood
I hoped some day to be his wife
but I have traded earthly pleasures
for this gown of black and white.
I will know no mortal lover
I will take no wedding vow
but I rejoice that He has called me
I am the bride of Jesus now.
I feed my soul I tend my garden
I spend my days in silent praise
though I am poor with few posessions
still I am rich beyond compare
For in His loving arms He holds me
and all my heart I give to Him
He is my strength He is my passion
He is my Savoir and my friend
and I will know no mortal lover
I will take no wedding vow
but I rejoice that He has called me.
I am the bride of Jesus now.
I am the bride of Jesus now.
