Sleep and healing comes
In the heart of darkness, out from the abyss
As a light that blinds my eyes
Now as a kiss, from sorrow to bliss
In the morning I may rise
But at night I descend, in search of heaven
From my veiled in misty mind
Where I am broken, there i'll see again
Where there are dreary streets come dance with me
And like blooming seeds from dark we'll reach
We'll sing out loud to the orphaned now
And make a holy sound with our dirty mouths
They speak a language on the heights
Like the sound of silence, or a blinding brightness
But not a hymn nor sound nor cry
Not but a kiss names the God of heaven
So I seek that inner flame to know that kindness
And to see that goodness
And like keys my deepest pains
Unlock the heavens, though I am ragged from them
