Cascading Slopes roads to michigan

I know now what I should have then
Before our lives were real
They weren't in those days
And now in more ways
David, you're my only friend
And when you go
I'm tempted to follow
Those endless roads back to Michigan
You drive alone through flat lands
And grey winter skies
Now we don't even know what's become
Of the old house by the farm
I'll always look back
I'll always live in the past
Now David, look here
We're adults now
And it's carried beyond the years
Time must have no old
On the fellowship we're keeping
There's still traces of your life in mine
