Cat Clyde chimes in the night

I wanna hold you,
Like I hold my mother while she weeps,
Whispering softly in your ear.
And there indentations
In your tongue from clenching teeth,
Never unwrenched.
So I'll share the silence with you.
I can feel those shackles
That you gather at your feet,
Sounding like chimes in the night.
And I know those knots,
They swarm and caught your insides tight,
Twisting and curling and encircling you.
I know there's nothing I can say
To close those wounds up tight,
Nothing I can do to mend those scars.
But I feel if I hold you close
Enough to share the weight,
You will find freedom,
And a reason to change.
