Dave Mallet this town

This town has rich folks dying right down beside the poor.
Limosines and widows crying, victims of the lonely wars.
Cavier and beans and bacon lined up at the grocery store
In this town's got a hardhat river with sleeping pilgrims on the shore
And this towns got folks on nothing bundled up and broke down cars
College kids and BMWs parked in front of all night bars
In this town is got a small time rumble and this towns just got a big-time roar
Barking dogs and lots of people swinging fists and slamming doors
And this towns got dreams a plenty
Some wasted some are new
In this town taught me it's not what you know boy it's what you do
And this town got got a raging fever on a hot old July night
And me I am one more true believer trying hard to get it right
And this town is got a poor man's muscle and this towns got a rich man's clout
Half a million fools a flying, coming in and getting out
And this town is rough and ready for whatever might come down
And right now I'm holding steady and hanging on here in this town
This town. Is my town
