Diane Durrett blame it on my dna

I got my daddy's mean streak, my uncle's evil eye
The lips my momma gave me could make a grown man cry
My grandma's good intentions of hiding her cigarettes
didn't keep me from addiction or failing that damn drug test
Somethin runs so deep, deep into my veins
that causes me to do all kinds of crazy things
I used to blame the devil for my evil ways
Now I blame it on my DNA
Aunt Betty liked to dance and stay out all night long
I guess that's why my feets ton't ever make it home
until the sun comes up on my skin so fair
Now all my guilt is gone in just one strand of hair
Thank God for modern science or I'd be scared as hell
what freedom I now have that there ain't no wicked spell cause I used to blame the devil for my evil ways
Now I blame it on my DNA
Ain't no changin' a leopard's spots or the way wine makes me feel
so I raise another glass to Grandma's sex appeal
Here's another toast to my family tree
If it wasn't for all of them I wouldn't be all me
Somethin' runs so deep, deep into my veins
that causes me to do all kinds of crazy things
I used to blame the devil for my evil ways
Now I blame it on my DNA
