Kim Churchill detail of distance

I’ve been looking on and on for something that wasn’t there.
Chasing an idea that existed only in my head.
I guess thats what dreams are made of,
and I don’t know what I would have been doing instead.
A man once told me to chase anything.
Even a leaf in the breeze, at least its pleasing.
But sometimes it feel’s like we’ve been chasing leaves forever,
and we ain’t a better reason.
Aren’t dreams just like a missing puzzle; without the puzzle,
We really don’t need them.
But we are just the people.
Living in a foreign time.
Take me disappearing.
To a place where sleep don’t make me tired.
You have my days, but leave me the nights to fuel the fire.
And If this is just a season.
Then the sun it will rise soon.
And the detail of distance,
shows nothing to resort to.
So we just sit around here,
With only our thoughts to return to.
