The poet says, My dear older sister, I beheld (kaNDEn) a peacock (mayil) dancing (ADa) on top (mIdu) of the skies (vAnattin), but lo and behold, the peacock (mayil) turned into (AccudaDi) a cuckoo (kuyil).

And when I finally abandoned (viTTu) my meaningless prancing (tuLLalai) and stated to chant the tiruvAmzhhi (toDanginEn) [1], I found/beheld ( kaNDEnaDi) the bountiful one (vaLLalai) that I was praying to (manRADum). ) the wickedness (sazhakkai) of caste (jAti/sAdi) and creed (samaya), I was able to behold (kaNDEnaDi) the divine (aruT) light/flame (jOtiyai/cOdiyai).

Once I set out (puRapaTTEn) having destroyed (ozhittu) all falsehood (poyyai), I found the Lord (ayyanai) that I was praying for (manRADum) .
