Pope animal

In my life I was kept waiting
No two of the same mistake
Went without warning
In time, love, we will be standing
Over pillars of plain, white smoke
Observing the trains below
Still standing on my time
But it was never the same then
In my life I was an animal
Injured by restless thoughts
Of miserable context
And you dear, are made up of
Neatly square divisions of labored care
And delicate dreaming
So stay near and know that the blackened air
Holds weight in the same strange vain
When the grain was shaped simply
Still standing on my time
But it was never the same then
The kids are all coming home now
And their mother’s been faithful
