Ray Materick neon rain

Neon Rain
Somewhere in some town, there's a young man, walkin' round.
And he's livin' out his life inside a dream.
And time it comes & goes, but the young man never knows.
Cause time is just the patches on his jeans.
Just a young boy from the country with a guitar and a name
Trying hard to find the righteous road to fame.
But them sidestreets sure look different
When you can't recall your name,
or the season or the reason why you came.
And all along 5th avenue,
they talk about it still today.
Just what it was you know he never knew,
for he was blinded,
by the flame,
of the Neon Rain
Like an eagle when it flies
Or a candle when dies
All the neon lights have faded
Like a ghost.
He was left right in between
His real life, and a dream
Stranded somewhere on the California coast
