Reed Four tongue in cheek

I've learned my lesson, you write it all down.
You take what you can get, cause it might not come back around.
I stepped on some broken glass,
holding my earrings and photographs,
of who I've left behind.
They say it's all tongue and cheek, but what does that really mean?
And I like the kind of birds that fly, so very high.
And I'm out the door and in through a window.
