Rickie B. columbine

It's hard to keep my head up when the sun is bright
Believe me bruh I've tried to let my eyes adjust to the light
They say it's dangerous to stare into that fiery sight
Cuz lookin at a star like that up close will surely blind your sight
But yet I try to fight
Cuz I don't think it's true at all
I feel like if this light is here then
you should see right through its heart
Maybe we already blind
Constantly searching for some art
But never find its worth cuz with respect to time this earth got dark
We ain't got the type of patience to embrace the lost
They just remind us of how not to comprehend our faults
Influenced from the thought of perfection
Our perception of that has been so
filtered we forget the beauty of a wrong
That's why we get caught up in our flaws They don't preach to us
to learn from our mistakes they teach us not to make mistakes at all
Then when we do we get addicted to that darker side
Flesh outweighs our spirit and it suffocates the light inside
Then they neglect the concept of forgiveness
And justify evil actions with religion
(Better check yo prescription)
But how else can we expect to advance When u worship
the past so much that you place helmets on an open mind
I Swear we got bad roots on this columbine (Yea Yea)
Swear we got bad roots on this columbine
Remember when I said it's hard to keep my head high
Maybe that's why this world is so polluted
If a cloud can block the sun, then me lookin up has been simplified
Light is so nonexistent
We don't empathize when others die
But what happens when you know the difference
What happens when you externalize that star which was your spirit
What happens when people die and you feel it what happens when you
start speaking love and affection and cherish those who are with you
What happens when yo embrace warms another heart that is near it
what happens when you change lives and improve another's condition
What happens is they treat you like a candle
Just as soon as you lit they gon' blow you out of commission
But even if they take yo life away the impact of
yo light will leave a spark that may just go ablaze
And then yo life will be living proof That the star that
you was struggling to visualize eventually is really you
Don't be tempted by bad roots
Don't try and fit in wit the crowd like fat dudes in a track suit
Be like Martin Luther King or like 2Pac or more like Jesus Christ
And if you die then die tryin to lead somebody to yo light
I Swear we got bad roots on this columbine
And I ain't talkin bout that high school shootin'
Just look up the definition
And take it which way you want
But regardless of what you find this world is so bad rooted
I Swear we got bad roots on this columbine (Yea Yea)
Swear we got bad roots on this columbine
I Swear we got bad roots on this columbine
And I ain't talkin bout that high school shootin'
Just look up the definition and take it which way you want
But regardless of what you find this world is so bad rooted
