Scott Shea handful of stones

This handful of stones I’ll count ’em one by one
Hold on to a few let go of some
When you first walked in you made me nervous
Been through so much we don’t deserve this
I would love to see to see you try
To make me laugh you’d make me cry
We were scared at first but didn’t know why
Another reason to run and hide
Caught myself in the mirror I was passing by
Saw the change in my face lines around my eyes
I would love to see to see you try
To make me laugh that’d make me cry and I’ll tell you why
This handful of stones
That nobody owns
For now they’re mine to hold
While I’m letting go of you
What if I were to follow you what if I were to fall
What if I were to call for you would you come at all
See I’ve got my reasons these stones in my hand
Letting go one by one there’s one I can’t
This handful of stones
Nobody owns
For now they’re mine to hold
While I’m letting go of you
This handful of stones
That nobody owns
For now they’re mine to hold
While I’m letting go of you
