Shannon Slaughter the working man

V1
I sing a song all the live long day
breaking ground and baling hay
sandy loam turns o’er the steel
John Deere plow in a new cut field
I am the working man
take nothing out of the federal hand
I’ll make my final stand
I am the working man
I work the seams in a ground coal mine
drill and heave, black number 9
man that auger, fire in the hole
longwall sheared, haul out the coal
It’s dawn to dusk for 6 days long
work so hard, can’t do no wrong
pray my son still works the land
and dies like me, a hard-working man
