Sierra memoirs

Running faces, black suits and ties
The movies told me that a man doesn't cry
A cold day in autumn blowing
Golden blankets reminiscent of what was slipping by
A sudden shake up, a violent quake, but a hole in the ground won't help me wake
Cliche stings and it's dejavu
Photographs collect the dust left in empty rooms
So I say goodbye, questioning when I said hello
I don't want to know
Connection blossoms, then withers and dies
Hollow bodies and regrets meet at final goodbyes
Where it's too late, and there's no going back
Drive across town to visit you now
Mirror image fills my head with doubt
Guilt's contagious, a hell of a drug
And it's enough to keep you out from the gate above
Knees shift the earth and palms pressed tight
Words uttered under breath hoping to make things right
An aimless practice given wasted chance
Just another aching soul left in this great expanse
Connection blossoms, then withers and dies
Hollow bodies and regrets meet at final goodbyes
Where it's too late, and there's no going back
