Steven Marking take me back to the river

Take Me Back to the River
Take me back to the river, slide me over the water
Let me feel the motion of the current and the waves
With not a care or bother
Down the beautiful river by the ever changing shore,
Let me see all the birds as they swim and they wade
As they watch the eagle soar
Take me out on the river, Float me on the water
With a drink in my hand and a song just for fun,
Where the egret and and the turtle share a log in the sun,
Where the beaches beckon and fishermen recon
Where the big bass waits by the shady shore
And what lure it takes to make that score
Take me back to the river set a blanket in the sand
Let me bake in the sun ‘till I'm well done
And my skin's all hot and tan.
On the beautiful river with that cool water tripping...
Hear a joke, take a toke, with with my friends I hope
That we'll end up skinny dipping
Take me back to the River When the waves die down
Strap a board on my feet, feel the breeze so sweet
As you pull me all around
On the beautiful river when the sun dips low
Put a log on the fire and lets all conspire
To let our worries go
