Swim Season lungs

These lights, flash in black and white,
But all I feel is blue, running into grey.
I'm sitting where these
Beads roll from my head in time
Falling down my frame, pouring out in red
Sirens seep through
My breath begins to limit
Hands to my chest like a rivet
My lungs loosen
Beat on my breast for an hour
Concrete to rust
And I close my eyes (in)
In a moment of colour
The weight from my shoulder
I know I can't let you
Lose your hero
And I feel from my shiver
The air won't deliver
I know I might let you
Lose your hero
You tumble down my lips
Nothing breaks the fall, arms of empty air
Topple through my
Thoughts of you and me in Spain
Sand between our toes, yellow through my veins
And I still hear the intentional silence
In a moment of colour
The weight from my shoulder
I know I can't let you
Lose your hero
And I feel from my shiver
The air won't deliver
I know I might let you
Lose your hero.
