The Atlas Frame isolated shell

I'm quite skilful in human interaction
But with you I'm at a loss for words
I can be very composed and steadfast
Not with you, with you my whole world turns
You bring out the flaws in me
That I don't want others to see
I'm afraid that you might leave
Once you see what's inside of me
Not a single person knows the real me
I hide behind made up self-esteem
Play pretend and bend in attempt
To blend in with the rest of them
I'm a mess I have to confess
Most I say is just to impress
All I ask for is a chance
To open up and show you who I am
For you to know what kind of man
I am beneath this isolated shell
Enough of feeling sorry for myself
I have to take life in my own hands
So much to give, much more to share
No point in living if I don't care
For myself and what's surrounding me
Beyond the horizon is a whole different world to see
Not a single person knows the real me
I hide behind made up self-esteem
Play pretend and bend in attempt
To blend in with the rest of them
I'm a mess I have to confess
Most I say is just to impress
All I ask for is a chance
To open up and show you who I am
For you to know what kind of man
I am beneath this isolated shell
It just looks like this never ends
I can't face the weight in my head
This might be too much
This might be too much
It just looks like this never ends
I can't face the weight in my head
This might be too much
This might be too
Much to ask
It came way to fast
I know this won't last
But if I just had
One chance
All I ask for is a chance
To open up and show you who I am
For you to know what kind of man
I am beneath this isolated shell
