The Talley Trio the debt

I watched as the soldier’s laid the cross on His back that day
I followed the blood-stained footprints He left as they led Him away
I witnessed the way He surrendered to nails through His hands and His feet
Like a lamb, He was led to the slaughter
What a horrible sight to see
I can’t turn away from His suffering
I can’t turn away from His price
I witnessed each moment of torment
He endured on the day that He died
I imagine the way He was wounded
I’ll picture it all for I know
Everything Jesus went through on the cross
Was a horrible debt that I owed
To think of the that it cost Him and cry for the scars He had
To run to be first to serve Him
Though I know I can’t pay Him back
To live my whole life as a debtor
To think of myself as a slave
That’s the least I can offer to thank Him for the terrible price He paid
So I won’t turn away from His suffering
I won’t turn away from His price
I witnessed each moment of torment
He endured on the day that He died
I’ll imagine the way He was wounded
I’ll picture it for I know
Everything Jesus went through on the cross
Was a horrible debt that I owed
Jesus paid it all
All to Him I owe
So I thank Him for all of His suffering
I’ll thank Him for all of His price
I’ll remember each moment of torment
He endured on the day that He died
I’ll imagine the way He was wounded
And I’ll picture it all for I know
Everything Jesus went through on the cross
Was a horrible debt that I owed
For everything Jesus went through on the cross
My life is the debt that I owe
He paid the debt I owe
