The Treble northern lights

As I looked out over that storm i saw you calling
Felt warm for a moment
I got lost in time so cold
Burning through the waste of cheap salvation
And moving to the west out of desperation
And leaving my best with people in places so cold
But I forgot the words I was saying when the call got lost
Got swept away from a place where i felt safe to one
Where no one believed in you
But northern lights keep following me
And It's all because of you
Didn't have a post card, a cheap phone call
But left a piece of my heart in a shopping mall
Full of people I met but I don't recall, so cold
But I forgot the words I was saying when the call got lost
Got swept away from a place where I felt safe
Trying to be somebody I'm not
But northern lights keep following me
And It's all because of you
And all my memories of washed out roads
Broken windows of places that were keeping me warm
And I'd keep you
But you say it's nothing at all
You said get over and call this what it is
All these messes we're made
Maybe they're lines that we've crossed
A little something we've lost
And we could never make it back again
