The Western Settlers down the river

Shot down, burning like you want me to,
run down, like a broke and beaten man,
i'd sail through any passage you want me to,
just to let you, lay your weary head,
We're all rolling, in the waves that we're sent through,
there's a bed where, i'd like to place my head
we're all floating, down this river, we can't get to
the bank side, is way too steep ahead
Trouble, always comes, rumbling through
no street signs, to tell you what's ahead
and in my disguise, I will hide, what I did to you
and leave you, sleeping in your bed
