Tony Marcus devotional

Speaking of religion, I thought of you today
And all the things I care for came in view
And while I mean no disrespect
To any other faith or sect
Let me worship at the church of you
Seeking no redemption nor absolution fair
I must confess you took me by surprise
When first I saw the miracle
That made my heart grow lyrical
And caught a glimpse of heaven in your eyes
And if you are a goddess
Then perhaps we're all divine
A pantheon with nothing to compare
And if we're merely mortal
And our clocks tick madly on
Let's not waste the time we have to share
Blessings may surround us
And we may never know
Until another opens up the door
And so I study catechism
Of you, my one and only –ism
And whisper to you
Dear one, teach me more
Blessings may surround us
And we might never know
Until another opens up the door
And so I study catechism
Of you, my one and only –ism
And whisper to you
Dear one, teach me more
And so I study catechism
And pray there'll never be a schism
‘Cause darling, you're the one that I adore
