I Used To Think The Futureâ¦
I used to think that yesterday was many years ago
And that all of our tomorrows would easily come and go.
I used to think the future was so, so far away,
And that all of our tomorrows would be just like todayâ¦
When we were young I thought I was much older then than you,
And that I could show you so much more then than you ever knew.
But as the years have trundled by - I much more clearly see â
I was doing little leading then - for you were leading me
And all the while we loved and lived I thought that it was I â
Who led the way whereâer we went as years went by and by.
And then it dawned on me one day - suddenly I could see â
I wasnât guiding you at all - for you were guiding me.
