Why did you have to do it – could we not have eased the pain?
Maybe have helped you through it – even help you try again?
We’d give anything we could now – to have you back again

It’s almost ten years since your pain became ours, too,
You were loved by oh so many – understood by oh so few.
And when things got you down – you kept it all pent up inside –
Till there was no room left for anymore and nowhere else to hide.
All through your short life you were kind and gentle, too;
You hated seeing others hurt – knowing how it was for you.
Struggling like a wounded fawn through this vale of tears –
You tried to hide your pain the way you tried to hide your fears.
And now hardly a day goes by when we don’t think of you –
It’s likely it’ll be like this the rest of our lives through.
When you thought you’d had enough of it and took your life away –
You took a little of us all with you that tragic fateful day.
