There was a king's fool
Who lived a serene life
In a castle of old
For the love of a queen.

There was a great hunt
Where nobles two by two
Kissed each other all ten meters
On paths said to be empty.

When the fool saw the queen
Courted by a handsome count,
He fled, his heart in torment,
Into the woods to cry in shame.

Once three days had passed,
He returned to the castle
And went to tell all
To the king, in his high-up tower.

At the whole story told to him,
The king laughed for a whole day.
He gave honors to the count
And 'twas the fool who was hanged.
