Ulver hymn iv of wolf and man

When Sorcery bluffed high - & need
On the ground he floated: Then as now
The hunt was living, breathing,
At every movement so great that it almost
It was pain
While he was walking around
Among people, he was disappointed first:
In the exterior of life there was no change
Like what he had felt in the Wolf's body
They slave under him
With that credulous mind
Fears him,
A craft of true nature,
Like Senses without self-deception
He glides unseen among them, roams in his pursuit
Like the colors of the evening, the breath of the night
For no voice of God has ever
Given man an answer to whom he scowled
Demon, Phantom & Werewolf
Known Naffn on what they could never find
Than he -
In his heart: An abyss heavy
As the black sea
There love its deeps
Huddled together
In the bottom of winter
He falls all their joy,
Life, Courage & Hope
The moon, rising newe,
Greeting him from a sunken sky
...And by the sounding midnight psalm
As Fryckt in the night weaves
Should the pious fade again< br/>The spell did breake and gave release
Two hours amongst Mankynde
But then, as now, the strayn
Of living, breathing, yea ev'rie move
A burden approaching payn
Dishearten'd he was
As he wander'd with men
On the surface of life - no change
No change as the Beast within
They fear him, these fooles
A power pure, nature unveiled'd
Perception sans delusion
Amongst them he walks unseen
Like a tint if Twilight
The breath of Night< br/>No voice of God did tell
Man what He did hide
Werewolf & Phantom, Daemon & Beast -
Mere names given to what they fear'd
But he -
In his heart: An abyss unfathomable
As teh blacken'd sea
Which loves its deeps
There -
An animal shadow crawling
O'er the wintry soil
All Hope, Joie & Life he slayes
The Moone, rising anew,
Bids him welcome from a waning sky
... And by the sounding
Of his midnight psalme
Feare shall be harvest again
From the Pious hearts of men
