Woven In Hiatus dirty rose

Things have changed since you moved up north
Since autumn came these rusty shadows never fill me up with warmth
And I can’t hold on to all these pictures that you painted for me
You wrote the book on how to dream
I think it took a hole in my heart to know exactly what that means
And I can hope but it could never seem to build this home up for me
Days are getting colder
But so am I
This weight held on your shoulders
Just stay up high
I hung your brushstrokes on my wall
I probably didn’t say enough, if I even spoke at all
about the way, I could hear your voice inside the colors on the page
and I could write about you all the time
I probably sound like broken records playing through your head at night
and if I do, just pull the needle off so I won’t get this through to you
Days are getting colder
But so am I
This weight held on your shoulders
Just stay up high
