Kid Pan Alley i always wanted a horse

By Paul Reisler w/ Terri Allard and Mr. Marshall's 2nd grade, Red Hill Elementary
I always wanted a horse
But that's not gonna happen
Maybe I'll find one in the clouds
And ride in the wind
Gallop over the mountains
And then come back again
I always wanted a horse
I'd ride him in my dreams
I'd feed him chicken soup
And fried collard greens
He'd be 30 hands high
When he turned seventeen
But I can't have a horse
‘Cause I live in New York
And a horse isn't potty-trained, of course
He's as wild as my brother
Who's as crazy as Crazy Horse
I always wanted a horse
But I'll settle for a turtle
Maybe I'll find one in the pond
And put him in my tub
Teach him to do a back flip
And give me a shoulder rub
I always wanted a pet
But you get just what you get
I always wanted a pet
But you get just what you get
I always wanted a pet
But you get just what you get
I always wanted a pet…
But a turtle??????
